Nurturing Heart Health: Our Commitment to Cardiovascular Well-being

At Daiichi Sankyo, we care for every heartbeat. Our goal is to protect people from cardiovascular disease (CVD) disease through our expertise in providing innovative medicines, and to help those who suffer from it.

Responsible for over 10,000 lives lost every day across Europe1, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death2 and cases are on the rise.

Did You Know That Cardiovascular Disease is Europe’s Leading Cause of Death?

Driving Innovation and Community Collaboration in Cardiovascular Care

As part of the pharmaceutical industry, we play a valuable role by identifying areas of unmet need, evolving new opportunities and innovations to support medical professionals, and advocating to inspire better care.

We are bringing together individuals and groups from the wider cardiovascular health community such as nutritionists, sports scientists and psychologists to encourage open discussions and shared learning that will lead to improvements in cardiovascular care and prevention. Ultimately, as a united community, we aim to lessen the impact of heart disease on individuals and their loved ones across Europe.

To demonstrate our commitment to inspire positive change in cardiovascular care and to improve patient outcomes, we have published several reports on cardiovascular disease as well as a European survey to uncover public perceptions and attitudes towards heart disease which can be found here.

Passionate about advancing heart health and creating impactful solutions to improve patient outcomes

“Through our ongoing collaboration with health related experts and scientific communities, we see a real sense of dedication and drive to seek solutions to the complex challenges we face to continue improving CV health. By listening to these communities’ needs, partnering with them and supporting them, we can help drive this progress forward. We’ve seen great developments in CV care over recent decades. But at some point in our lives – either directly or via a family member or friend – most of us will still encounter CVD. That is how extensive its reach is and yet, we know that premature death from CVD is largely preventable.”

Patient centricity as a key component of how we think and work

“Daiichi Sankyo’s purpose to enrich quality of life around the world begins with the fundamental acknowledgment that individuals affected by medical conditions are true health experts alongside healthcare professionals. We are committed to recognising this and to drawing on the collective knowledge of all stakeholders to forge a more inclusive future for cardiovascular care. By integrating these insights, we aspire for care to be increasingly tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual.”
