Italy: Cardiovascular Prevention Campaign
Empowering Prevention Across Italy
Daiichi Sankyo Italy, in collaboration with the National Institute for Cardiovascular Research and the endorsement of Roma Capitale and several patient organizations and foundations, has launched “Your Heart in Your Hands”, a traveling cardiovascular prevention campaign. The initiative began in Rome with a free screening day in Piazza del Popolo on September 30, 2025. It offered to citizens free access to ECGs, blood pressure checks, lipid and blood sugar tests—alongside educational materials and guidance on CVDs and healthy lifestyle. After Rome, the campaign will continue with stops in Turin and Palermo.

Why It Matters
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of mortality in the EU.1 Based on the results of our European Heart Health Survey – Public Perceptions on Cardiovascular Care, we found that many people still lack awareness of CVD symptoms and often delay seeking care.2 Daiichi Sankyo is committed to a holistic approach to cardiovascular health—combining research, prevention, and patient support. This campaign helped bridge the gap between citizens and local institutions, encouraging early detection, informed decision-making, and better treatment adherence. It also aimed to raise awareness of lesser-known signs and gender differences in the presentation of cardiovascular disease, while promoting lifestyle changes as key pillars of prevention.
